20th SLA Αnnual Conference Library Spaces in the Physical and Virtual Environments, Vrnjačka Banja and Kraljevo, 14-16/12/2023.

If library spaces, physical or virtual are inspiring for you or this is a topic that you are interested in, SLA conference in December is the place for you!
Serbian Library Association (SLA) the First call for papers for the 20th SLA annual Conference Library Spaces in the Physical and Virtual Environments, which will be held in Vrnjačka Banja and Kraljevo, 14-16 December 2023.
We invite all interested authors to submit full-text papers in Serbian or English, or summaries for poster presentations and panel sessions in Serbian or English, and information on the format (whether it is a proposal for a poster presentation or panel session) to the email konferencija2023@bds.rs no later than 10 September 2023.
The organizers invite interested authors to submit their papers in full text within one or more proposed subtopics:
- Recognizability: Library space as a feature of community identity; library support models;
- Strategy: Advocacy for optimal and functional library spaces;
- Infrastructure: Dedicated or adapted library buildings; mobile libraries; green libraries and sustainable buildings; modular spaces;
- Standards: Library space design and protection of collections;
- Virtual libraries: Functionality and utilization of digital space; metaverse;
- Tools: Connecting physical and virtual space; augmented reality (AR) and immersive technologies;
- Audience: Needs, access, and adaptability of library spaces to different categories of users and audiences; encouraging the community to actively participate in the creation of the program;
- Sustainability: Innovative solutions for library spaces in the context of the UN 2030 Agenda;
- Cooperation: Creative use of public spaces for the needs of libraries; library spaces usedfor the cultural, educational, and social needs of the community;
- Open spaces: Places for permanent library activities.
Since the proposed subtopics are frameworks for thematic thinking, the organizers encourage authors to be creative in proposing papers that correspond to the main theme of the Conference.
