    Announcement of 63 internship positions

    This cycle of internships will begin in June 2019 and will end on January 15, 2020.

    Types of internships

    1. Internship – without educational qualifications: Three (3) positions which are for Administrative Services in the organizations.  The selection of candidates for these positions will be done through a drawing of names in the presence of a notary public.  All interested candidates will participate.  No educational qualifications are required but there will be, following the drawing, a series of personal interviews with the management of the NLG, GNO and SNFCC Α.Ε.
    2. Internship – with educational qualifications: Sixty (60) positions, which are for internships in the various departments of the organizations.  The selection for these positions will be made through a pool of candidates that will result from a drawing of names in the presence of a notary public.  For all the fields with the exception of the field “Library Science”, there will be a series of personal interviews with the management of the NLG, GNO και SNFCC Α.Ε.  For this type of internship, educational qualifications are required as well as certified knowledge of the English language.

    Summer School for Digital Humanities

    The 1 st Summer School for Digital Humanities will take place at the Athens University of Economics and Business from July 15 – 19, 2019. The Summer School for Digital Humanities is being organized by the Digital Intelligence Unit of the Institute of Information Systems at the “Athena” Research Center and by the National Infrastructure for Digital Humanities and Arts and for Language Research and Innovation “Appolonis”. The course is free of charge but the spaces are limited and have already been filled.

    The Catherine Laskaridis foundation will support attendance at the 85 th World Library and Information Conference

    The Catherine Laskaridis Foundation will actively participate in the 85 th IFLA World Library and Information Congress which will take place in Athens from August 13 to August 30. In an effort to support Greek librarians and employees in libraries all over Greece, the Foundation has undertaken to cover the cost of attendance for 90 persons. All Librarians with a degree in library science, as well as all employees in public and private libraries that function in Greece can participate. The selections will be made by a drawing of applications on an online platform. If you wish to take part in the selection process, please complete the electronic application for participation by Friday, May 3, 2019. The applications who have been selected will be informed of their selection electronically by Monday, May 13, 2019.

    Workshop «The Role of the Librarian in the Library and in Society today»

    The Regional Branch of the Association of Greek Librarians in Northern Greece was present on April 4, 2019 at the Workshop that was organized by the Association of Students in the Library Science and Information Systems Department at the Technical Educational Institution in Thessaloniki. Organizers included the President of the Branch Department in Northern Greece, Eleni Semertzidou and one of the members, Charalambos Tsolakis.

    The subject of the educational workshop was «The role of the librarian in the library and in society today». The speeches of the two speakers was the first time that the students had contact with the Regional Branch of Northern Greece.

    The collaboration and joint activities with the Library Science Department was considered essential and the event was successful. The Regional Branch of Northern Greece wishes to thank the student community from the Library Science and Information Systems Department for the warm reception that they received.

    The Branch is open to their participation in other workshops that the students and their Technical University department will organize in the future.
