    Submission of applications to the ESPA program for the training and certification of employees in the book industry

    The Association of Greek Publishers and Booksellers (ENELVI) is pleased to announce that the submission of applications to the ESPA program has begun. The ESPA program is for the training and certification of employees in the book industry. This program will give participating employees the opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and competencies which will not only have a positive impact on their professional careers, but will also have the added benefit that this new knowledge will filter down through the businesses and generally throughout the book industry. Therefore, we invite you to inform your employees about this opportunity and to encourage them to register. The submission of applications begins immediately.     Summer School for Digital Humanities

    The 1 st Summer School for Digital Humanities will take place at the Athens University of Economics and Business from July 15 – 19, 2019. The Summer School for Digital Humanities is being organized by the Digital Intelligence Unit of the Institute of Information Systems at the “Athena” Research Center and by the National Infrastructure for Digital Humanities and Arts and for Language Research and Innovation “Appolonis”. The course is free of charge but the spaces are limited and have already been filled.

    Workshop «The Role of the Librarian in the Library and in Society today»

    The Regional Branch of the Association of Greek Librarians in Northern Greece was present on April 4, 2019 at the Workshop that was organized by the Association of Students in the Library Science and Information Systems Department at the Technical Educational Institution in Thessaloniki. Organizers included the President of the Branch Department in Northern Greece, Eleni Semertzidou and one of the members, Charalambos Tsolakis.

    The subject of the educational workshop was «The role of the librarian in the library and in society today». The speeches of the two speakers was the first time that the students had contact with the Regional Branch of Northern Greece.

    The collaboration and joint activities with the Library Science Department was considered essential and the event was successful. The Regional Branch of Northern Greece wishes to thank the student community from the Library Science and Information Systems Department for the warm reception that they received.

    The Branch is open to their participation in other workshops that the students and their Technical University department will organize in the future.
