AGLIS Conference 2026: Abstract Submission

Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the organization of the AGLIS Conference, which will take place on April 22-24, 2026.
The conference is being organized in collaboration with the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation and will be held in person, with the option of online participation, at the Historical Library of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation (2nd Merarchias 36 & Aktis Moutsopoulou, 185 35, Piraeus).
The theme of the conference is: “Spaces of knowledge and memory: Redefining the image of libraries, archives, and museums in a changing world.”
This year’s theme highlights the critical importance of information spaces in preserving and transmitting knowledge and memory in a constantly evolving society. To help you prepare your submissions, we are sharing the thematic areas of the AGLIS 2026 Conference:
- Library science and information science. Redefining the library as a place of learning,
networking, and participation.
- Archival science and records management. Archives and digital promotion, description
and interconnection standards.
- Museums: from exhibiting to participating. Exploring new ways of actively engaging
the public, educational activities, and co-creation.
- Artificial intelligence and cultural institutions. New technologies and applications in
information, documentation, and promotion services.
- Digital reading and new forms of information. From physical documents to hybrid and
multimedia reading.
- Digital literacy and critical thinking. The role of libraries in promoting information
literacy and combating misinformation.
- The social role of libraries. A refuge for all without discrimination: equal access,
participation, empowerment.
- Cultural institutions today. Roles, strategies, and challenges in the new social and
technological reality.
- Old material in modern libraries. Challenges, documentation, promotion Management,
description standards, digitization, exhibitions, educational programs.
AGLIS invites you to submit:
- Abstracts (up to 500 words),
- Full articles (up to 15,000 words),
- Workshops (1-1.5 hours long),
- Posters.
Papers may concern theoretical presentations, applications, case studies, technical studies, etc. Special sections will be scheduled for undergraduate and graduate papers. Instructions can be found here
